Today I... February 13th

Today I...

...am sharing this picture of my friends and I together at a party this past summer with you. This is my Valentine to you, because I want to wish you all a Happy Valentine's day whether you have a significant other or not. because as I am trying to show you with this photo, I believe that Valentine's Day is and should be publicized as being about love in all shapes and forms whether it be love between a couple or the love shared by family and friends. So happy Valentine's Day to all of you and know that whether you are in a relationship or not, you are loved. I, for one, will probably go out and buy myself some flowers tomorrow, something that I do quite regularly on Valentine's Day and I always get a good laugh out of seeing how I walk into the florist's shop with a smile on my face to buy the flowers, whereas most of the other customers in the store are very stressed out men. I somehow get the impression that women enjoy Valentine's Day far more than men do. Poor guys... ;o) The bottom line is, give yourselves a treat tomorrow folks, because Valentine's Day should be about shred love, but should also be a reminder to love yourself :o)

...am feeling much better after another lovely, long night's sleep. The sluggishness is gone and I hope it won't be back for a while.

...trekked out to the West Island for a spa treatment and am now feeling quite pretty :o)

...saw, for the first and hopefully last time, a guy get his face stuck in the doors of my metro car. Yup, you read that right, his face. It was so unbelievable to see him that way that I didn't quite believe what I was seeing. I remember thinking 'No way, seriously???' How on earth the guy managed to get stuck like that is beyond me, because logically when you're trying to make sure you get on the metro, you're trying to hold the doors open with your hands (and you're just asking for a hefty fine by doing that...). I didn't see how the guy got stuck, if he tripped or not, but it took two tall, built up men to pry the doors open enough to for kid to get his head out of the door and then, to add insult to injury, for the kid at least, the train left the station and he stayed on the platform. No one in the metro car said anything, I think were were all still too busy thinking 'Seriously?!?!?'.

...got both the vacuuming and the laundry done when I got home.

...spoke with my Sweetheart and he is fine, no cold in sight. Phew!!! Now, he's not allowed to catch one this week because I am going to visit him! No colds allowed!!! Not for me, not for him, not for anyone who is in close contact with us and who can contaminate us! Why am I so worried my Sweetheart might catch a cold or flu you may be wondering? Because he is, quite literally, allergic to work. Whenever things get hectic at work he gets stressed out, works to much, doesn't sleep enough and doesn't eat well and then *poof* he gets a cold. He only has a few weeks left at his job in Toronto and he is stressed out about getting all his work done before leaving so the LAST thing I want is for him to have an allergy attack this week. As for me, the odds of my getting sick are fairly low since I am blessed with a cast iron immune system (I just touched wood anyhow though) and a woman's logic that tells me to take vitamin C and D every day to help my immune system do its job and to give it an additional boost with some extra strength Cold FX if I do feel something coming it. So, hopefully everything will go smoothly and my Sweetheart and I will be able to have a lovely, cold and flu free weekend together :o)

  2. Valentine's wishes to you too, Karine. Actually my muddy walk was great - very cold and raw but with birds singing. Only downside now is cleaning our muddy walking boots.
