Skywatch Friday

This week's Skywatch features are these two photos I took in Montreal's Quartier des Spectacles, or Entertainment District in English, which is currently undergoing a major face-lift. It houses a large portion of Montreal's Concert halls, including La Place des Arts, home to the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens and l'Opéra de Montréal. Check it out if you're in town, there's almost always something going on in the area...but take the Metro to get there until the construction in the area is done or you will not have nearly as much fun.

To see more Skywatch photos from around the world, you can visit the Skywatch Friday blog.

  1. The first photo looks like a gigantic spiderweb!

    WHEN PLANETS PLUMMET

    When planets plummet
    And comets careen,
    It’s the strangest sight
    You ever have seen.

    When drunk stars stagger
    And comets collide,
    It’s time to look up
    As you go outside

    To stare at the sky
    Where the strangest sight
    Is the moon-faced thing
    That you see at night.
